In an examination 49% candidates failed in physics and 36% failed in chemistry and 15% failed in both the subjects. If the total nimber if candidates who passed in physics alone is 420 what is the total number of candidates

Fail in eng= 49 %
pass in eng= 51%
fail in hindi =36%
pass in hin = 64%
51 + 64= 115
so 15 % passed in both
So in only eng( 51-15)%= 36% passed
Which is 630 so the 100% is 630*100/36=1750
1750 is total appeared
