In an examination 70% of student pass in C-programming and
60% pass in Computer Architecture, while 25% students failed and 220 students pass in both the subjects. Find total number of

Number of student Fail in C-programming =100-70=30%

Number of student pass in Computer Architecture = 60%

Number of student fail in Computer Architecture = 100-60=40%

total number of  fail student =number of student fail in C-programming+number of student fail in Computer Architecture-number of student fail in both subject.

Hence the total number of fail student=30+40-25

Hence the total number of fail student=45

So,45% of the fail student and  55% of pass student appears in the exam.

Let total number of student=x

55% of the total=220

\dfrac{55}{100}\cdot x=220\\x=\dfrac{220\times 100}{55}\\x=400

Therefore total number of student  in examination is 400.
