No of students passed in English = 80%

No of students passed in Mathematics = 85%

Remaining the children both passed in Mathematics and English = 75%

So let there are X no of students

80% of X passed in Maths = (85/100)X = 17X/20

75 of X passed in both = (75/100)X = 3X/4

4X/5 - 3x/4 = x/ 29

17x/29 - 3x4 = x10

There for total students passed = 3x/4+ x/20 + x/ 19 = 18x/ 20 = 9×/10

And x/10 given in question

so x = 40 × 10 = 400
