Hey there!

________

i) leaf D would lose water through transpiration( evaporation of water from aerial parts of plant such as stem, leaves etc) because it is uncoated on both sides hence it would dry fast.

ii) leaf A would not dry as quick as compared to the other leaves because it is coated with vaseline onnboth sides. The leaves have numerous stomata which get closed when vaseline is applied and hence no loss of water takes place.

iii) leaf D doesn't undergo changed since it is mostly covered. Nothing can get in and nothing can escape through it.

Thus the components remain intact.

iv) • leaves should be hanged so that tranpiration occurs freely.

• observations to be only made after 2-3 days.

v) the aim of the experiment is to understand what processes are affected when the stomata are closed by applying vaseline.

Which are namely:

• transpiration

• photosynthesis ( since no gaseous exchange can take place)

Cheers!
