Answer:

let the 2 equal base angles be x

so, x+x+40=180 (sum of angle = 180)

2x=180-40

2x=140

x=140/2

x=70

so the measure of 2 equal angles is 70 degree

Solution :-

Given :-

  • The base angles are equal.

  • The vertex angle is 40 °.

To Find :-

  • What are the base angle of the triangle ?

Step-by-step-explaination :-

Let,

  • The base angle of the isosceles triangle be x

According to the question,

x + x + 40° = 180°

2x + 40° = 180°

2x = 180° - 40°

2x = 140°

x = 140/2

x = 70

Hence,

The base angle of the isosceles triangle = 70°.
