let the base be x
so the lenght of the equal sides = 4.5+x and 4.5 +x
perimeter is 34.5
now
4.5+x+4.5+x+x=34.5
9+3x=34.5
x=8.5
so
base =8.5cm
equal side =8.5+4.5=13
8.5+4.5=13
