In an obtuse-angled triangle ABC, angle A is the obtuse angle and O is the orthocenter. If angle BOC = 54 degrees, what is angle BAC?

Let AP, BQ and CR be the altitudes that concur in O, the orthocentre which is outside the triangle since /_A is obtuse. Now /_OBQ =90°-54°=36°. Likewise /_OCR=36°. Let /_BOP=x & /_COP=y. /_BAC=/_BAP+/_CAP=36°+x+36°+y=72°+(x+y)=(72+54)=126°

in quad aqor bu angle sum prop /_ a = 360-(90+90+54)= 126

/_ bac = /_ qar.......voa

thus ans is 126
