In an office. 70% of the employees are male. Forty percent of the employees,which included six female employees got promotion. If there are 35 male employees,what percent of the male employees got promotion?

let the total no of employees be x

male employees=70/100*x=  \frac{70}{100}x

no of employees promoted=40/100*x=  \frac{40}{100}x

there are 35 male employees

so \frac{70}{100}x=35

x=50 i.e total no of employees is 50

40% got promoted ,no of promoted employees=(40/100)*50=20

no of males promoted=20-6=14

% of male promotion=\frac{no of promoted males\\ }{total no of males} *100

                                  =(14/35)*100

                                   =40%
