As impure water is a good cinductor of electricity.  if the main electrial supply is kept on ,there are chances that the water may spill over it and the chance to get an electric shock increases.also in a commercial builsing many people run during the fire so they may fall over the electriity conducting water and get an tremendous electric shock.

Answer:

Water can conduct electricity because it comprises of various kinds of impurities, as well as ions. The amount of water present in the hoses can transfer electricity. The firemen are used to shut off the supply of electricity to avoid risk. If the water sprayed from the hoses comes in contact with any of the electrical equipment, the firemen can get hurt and when the main electrical supply for the area is not shut off and water is spread then every individual nearby along with will get hurt.
