Answer:

The plane contain maximum number of atoms should have 3 hydrogen atoms also should have 2 hydrogen and one carbon atom

Explanation:

we have,

4 , palne

now, in next condition

6 plane passing through the edges of the tetrahedron

In all we have 4+6 = 10 plane

Hope it helps you...

In CCl₄ the maximum number of atoms in a plane is three.

  • CCl₄ has a tetrahedral geometry due to the repulsion between the four Cl atoms. To minimize repulsion and maximize separation Carbon is kept at the centre and all the chlorine atoms attached at a bond angle of 109.5° according to VSEPR theory.
  • Earlier according to Lewis structure the structure of CCl₄, the least electronegative atom i.e. carbon is kept at the centre and the four Cl atoms are attached with a single bond to it at 90°.
