Many of the families in India wants a boy child because they thinks that boys would be there helping hand when they becomes old.If the first child is a boy they never go for a second child ,this is the most reasonable reason for a great imbalance in the ratio of men and women.But if the 1st child is a girl some of the families do not give them freedom or they kill them when they are born.So this is a big reason in imbalance between men and women.Accirding to me every child whether its a boy or a girl shiold be give liberty.
