Answer:
In Hector Hugh Munro’s ‘Mrs. Packletide’s Tiger,’ the sound of the gunshot caused the tiger death. The character Mrs. Packletide is envious of Loona Bimberton’s accomplishments. In order to show her down she decides to kill a tiger. The story emphasises on her tiger hunt. When the tiger approached and she fired a shot at her prey, the beast sprang to a side and rolled over. Everyone thought the bullet had done the work but it was Ms. Mebbin who made Mrs. Packletide aware of the real reason. The gunshot had actually killed the goat but the tiger, due to the sound of that shot, died of heart failure.
