Siva Subramanya Iyer  was APJ Abdul Kalam's Science Teacher. This man played a great role in the early years of APJ Abdul Kalam's life. He was much influenced by his science teacher for his science teacher was the one who taught him the ways of breaking down social barriers. Considering that Abdul Kalam was from a Muslim family and during that time period religion was considered a barrier, his teacher proved him otherwise. And that friendship was much above such differences in life. He made his wife serve food from her hands to Abdul Kalam because Siva Subramanya Iyer wanted to change her perception for religious differences too. He wanted to change her conservative attitude towards a person like Abdul Kalam.
