In comparing two ecosystems A and B, it is observed that A has only first and second order consumers, while B has third, fourth and fifth order consumers. Which of the two order could be more stable and why?

Ecosystem A will be more stable because according to ten percent law only 10% of energy is transferred from one trophic level to next. In ecosystem B, the 4th and 5th order consumer will have very less or no energy at all to sustain themselves.

The smaller the ecosystem the more stable it will be because more energy can be utilized in smaller ecosystem in complex ecosystem the energy passed on will be less so it will be less stable .
