This produces an electromagnetic coil more commonly called a Solenoid. Then every length of wire has the effect of electromagnetism around itself when an electrical current flows through it. The direction of the magnetic field being dependant upon the direction of the flow of current.

in electromagnets the current flowing through the conductors produce a  magnetic field. these magnetic fields are closed curves are start from north pole to south pole outside the magnet and south to north inside the magnets
