In Exercise 9.2 of Class 9 NCERT math text book, the first question, that is ABCD is a parallelogram, AE is perpendicular to DC and CF is perpendicular to AD. If AB = 16cm, AE = 8cm and CF = 10 cm, find AD. The given solution says:
Area of parallelogram ABCD = AD *CF = DC * AE
Therefore AD = 12.8
But I did not understand how AD * CF = DC * AE
Please tell me how. I’m pleading you

CD is base and AE is perpendicular
and area of parallelogram is base × perpendicular
and also if we take AD as base than FC is it's perpendicular
so area will be same that's why we have equated them equally
