In Fig.15.72(a), OABC is a square of side 7cm. If OAPC is a quadrant of a circle with centre O, then find the area of the shaded region.(Use π=22/7)

First of all let's find unshaded region area :

Area = $\frac{1}{4}$ × $\frac{22}{7}$ × $7^{2}$

       = 38.5 $cm^{2}$

Therefore shaded part is = (7 × 7) - 38.5

                           = 10.5 $cm^{2}$
