In Fig. 9.20, BE is parallel to CD, BA = BC, angle ABE = 20° and angle DCG = 60°. Determine angle FAC.

Answer:

so as BE ||DC

ebc =dcg

so abc = 60°-20° = 40°

as a+b+c= 180°

a+a+40=180°

so.

a= 140/2=70°= bac

as baf = 180° (linear pair )

bac+fac = 180°

70°+fac=180°

fac = 180°-70°=110°
