so the area of square abcd =14×14=196

and the area of quadrant ABC =1÷4×πr2

= 1÷4×22÷7×14×14

= 154

area of semi circle= πr2÷2

= 22×14×14÷7×4

= 308

area of shaded portion = area of square-area of quadrant+area of semicircle

= 196-154+308

= 356
