Given: lines l || m || n and p || q || r, angle 1 = 85°

To find: angle x,y,z,t,s,u?

Solution:

  • Now we have given angle 1 = 85°, so:

              Angle x will also be 85°      ..........alternate interior angles

              Angle z will also be 85°................corresponding angles with x

  • Consider angle 2 which is corresponding to angle s and angle 1.
  • Then, we get:

              Angle s is 85°            .............corresponding angles with angle 2

              Similarly, angle u will be:

              u = 180 - s          ............linear pair

              180 - 85

              u = 95°              

  • Now since  l || m and m || n, so from both l || n.

              So angle 1 + y = 180   ................co-interior angles

              y = 180 - 85

              y = 95°  

  • So angle t + y = 180    .............co-interior angles

              t = 180 - y

              t = 180 - 95

              t = 85°                  

Answer:

      So, the angles are: x = t = z = s = 85° and u = y = 95°
