In rectangle ABCD, AB= 6cm.
In llgm, base, AB= 6cm,
And height of the llgm, AD= 4cm
Area of llgm = Base x Height
= 6cm x 4cm
= 24cm^2
Hence, the area of parallelogram is 24cm square.

the figure 9.47,
ABCD is a rectangle (given)
AB = 6cm (given)
BC = 4cm (given)

To be found,
\bf{Area\: of \:parallelogram \:ABEF}

We know that,
"Parallelograms on the same base and between same parallels are equal in area."

Rectangle ABCD and parallelogram ABEF lies on same base AB.

So,
\bf{Area \:of\: rectangle \:ABCD = Area \:of\: parallelogram\: ABEF}

\bf{length × breadth = Area \:of\: parallelogram\: ABEF}

\bf{6 × 4 = Area \:of\: parallelogram\: ABEF}

\bf{24 = Area \:of\: parallelogram\: ABEF}

Hence, area of the parallelogram ABEF is 24cm².
