In figure ABCD which is a rectangle. Find the value of x and y .

In a rectangle,opposite sides are equal.
Therefore,
x-y=14......(i)
and,
x+y=30......(ii)
Adding (i) and (ii),we get....
2x=44
=>x=22
Substituting value of x in (ii),we get...
22 +y=30
=>y=8
Hence value of x is 22 and y is 8.
