In figure R1=10 Ω, R2= 40 Ω, R3= 30 Ω, R4= 20 Ω, R5= 30 Ω and a 12 V battery is connected to arrangement. Calculate (a) the total resistance in the circuit, and (b) the total current flowing in the circuit.

Explanation:

a) R (total)= (1/R1 + 1/R2) + (1/R3 + 1/R4 + 1/R5)

=(1/10 + 1/40) + (1/30 + 1/20 + 1/30)

=29/120

=120/29

=4,14 ohms

b) current stays the same
