In figure the ratio of currents in 3ohm and 1ohm resistor is 1:2
- Consider the given figure,
- Resistance in series = Rs = 1 ohm
- Resistance in parallel = Rp
- 1/R = 1/3 + 1/6 = 3/6
- R = 6/3 = 2
- ∴ Resistance in parallel = Rp = 2
- Now, we have,
- I = V/R
- considering the voltage "V" to be constant, we have,
- I = 1/R
- The ratio resistance in parallel to the resistance in series
- = Rp/Rs = 2/1 = 2
- Now, consider the current equation
- I = 1/R
- I = 1/2
- ∴ I = 1:2
