Given: In flood, 10% of cattle drowned 20% of  remainder died of diseases and 5% of  remaining lost if 1365 remain.

To find: How  many cattle were there?

Solution:

  • Let the total number of cattle be x.
  • Now we have given that 10% of cattle drowned 20% of  remainder died of diseases and 5% of  remaining lost.
  • So total loss of cattle is 35% in total of x.
  • That means 65% is still there which is 1365.
  • So 65% of x will be:

         (65/100) × x = 1365

         x = ( 1365 x 100 ) / 65

         x = 21 x 100

         x = 2100

Answer:

         So the total cattles were 2100.
