BO = 7x + 4 and OD = 18  

To find:

The value of x

Solution:

ABCD is a parallelogram

The diagonal AC & BD intersect at O  and they bisect each other

∴ BO = OD   ...... (1)

BO = 7x + 4

OD = 18

Substituting these  values in the equation (1), we get,

7x + 4 = 18

Subtracting 4 from both sides

7x + 4 - 4 = 18 - 4

7x = 14

Dividing both sides by 7 , we get,

x = 2

Therefore, the value of x is 2.
