PB = 4 cm

AB is a tangent to the smaller circle of radius 3 cm

so, angle OPA = 90° ( Tangent perpendicular to radius)

In triangle OPA using Pythagorean theorem

we will get,

AP = 4 cm

Now,

AB is a chord of larger circle

and OP is a perpendicular from centre

It means

(using theorem if perpendicular is drawn from centre to the chord of the circle then perpendicular will bisect the chord)

AP = PB

so, PB = 4 cm.
