In given figure if monkey moves upwards with
respect to rope with acceleration a0, then
acceleration of block is :-

1.) m ( g + a0 ) / M
2.) m ( g + a0 ) / M - m
3.) m ( g + a0 ) / M + m
4.) m ( g - a0 ) / M + m

Answer:

2) m( g+a₀) / M-m

Explanation:

Let the rope go down with acceleration a, ∴ acceleration of M block is a.

therefore the monkey goes up with acceleration (a+a₀), the reason being relative acceleration.

∴ Force exerted by the monkey is given by m(g+a+a₀) in the downward direction.

Now equating this with

Ma=m(g+a+a₀)

(M-m)a=m(g+a₀)

a=\frac{m(g+ao)}{(M-m)}

Hope this answer helped you :)
