Given :  point C(3/5, 11/5) divide the line segment joining the points A(3,5)

and B(-3,-2)

To Find : Ratio in  which The point C divide the line segment AB

A. 3:2

B. 3:5

C. 2:3

D. 5:3

Solution:

Let say  point C divide the line segment AB in m : n ratio

C(3/5, 11/5)

A(3,5) and B(-3,-2)

Then  (3/5 , 11/5) =  (  (m(-3) + n(3) ) /(m + n) , (m(-2) + n(5) ) /(m + n)

Equating x coordinate

3/5  = (m(-3) + n(3) ) /(m + n)

=>   m  + n   =  5( -m  + n)

=> 6m  = 4n

=> 3m = 2n

=> m/n  = 2/3

=> m : n = 2 : 3

option C is correct
