Step-by-step explanation:

Given ABC is right-angled at C

and ab^2 =2ac^2 ------------------ 1

by Pythagoras theorem

we know

ab^2 = ac^2 + bc^2 ----------------- 2

from 1 and 2 equations

2ac^2 = ac^2 + bc^2

ac^2 = bc^2

ac = bc

therefore its an isosceles triangle as two sides are equal
