ANSWER:

Tupiq

EXPLANATION:

The Eskimos also known as Inuits had migrated to Greenland from North America around 1000 years ago. Gradually, they acclimatised themselves to the harsh climate of Greenland. Greenlanders inhabiting in extreme north build snow-houses known as igloo in the winter season. In the summer season, Eskimos live in skin tents known as Tupiq. The ‘Tupiq’ is a traditional Inuit tent made from caribouor seal skin. The tupiq could be used only on the land and not on the sea ice. Tupiqs are portable for travelling and lasted many years.

When stored over the winter, being made from animal skins the tupiq had to be kept away from dogs and other animals. During the summer the tupiq was used as accommodation, then in the fall time when it gets colder, the Inuit moves into Qammaq or sod houses (similar to log cabin) and the tupiq was used as the roof for these sod houses. In winter, the Inuit resided in igloos when the snow was abundant to build them. Then during the spring time when the igloo melted, the Eskimos moved back into the tupiq
