Given :  Heron’s formula  used to find area of triangle

To find : what is represented by 's'?

perimeter of triangle

semi perimeter of triangle

area of triangle

None of the above

Solution:

Heron formula to find area of triangle :

A = √s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

a , b  & c are sides of triangle

s  = (a + b + c)/2

a + b + c = perimeter of triangle

s = perimeter of triangle  /2

=> s = half of  perimeter of triangle  =

=> s =  semi perimeter of triangle

s =  semi perimeter of triangle is the correct option.
