1. The british parliament passed a law in 1858 and transferred the powers of east india company to british crown. A secretary was appointed from the british cabinet and made responsible for all affairs related to governance of india.

2.The lands of muslims were confiscated on large scale and they were seen with humility.

3. The company showed more respect to indian customs and religions.

4. The promotion of indian soldiers was decreased from army and the white soldiers were increased.

5. Laws were made to protect landlords and zamindars.

6. The rulers and nawabs were assured that their lands would never be annexed in future and doctrine of lapse was banned i.e. the kingdom could be passed to the heir even to the adopted son.
