At a distance  they are impossible to distinguish from other pelicans  however the positions at the upping mandible are smaller, with a lack of vivid colors, & a more dark plumage. This birds nest in certain places in large colonies near the environments of mankind.
• Apart from that Dalmatian pelican ( largest member of the pelican family, & possibly the globe's largest freshwater bird) & Pink-backed pelican breeds in southern India ( a resident breeder in the swamps & shallow lakes).
