In iupac naming do we consider bis tris etc for writing the substituents in the alphabetical order?
we do not consider bi tri etc. but what about bis tris?

Hi Ranad,

You may know that bis and tris is used for substituent like benzene ring and its various forms.

We uae bis and tris without considering the alphabetical order.

Answer :-

In IUPAC nomenclature, neither bi, tri nor bis, tris are considered as alphabets.

Also, iso, neo are considered as alphabets but n, sec, tert, are not considered as alphabets in IUPAC nomenclature.
