L / 35 kerosene oil should be added to this mixture such that the ratio of kerosene oil and petrol becomes 4 : 5

Step-by-step explanation:

L litres of mixture of fuel

kerosene oil and petrol are in the ratio 3 : 4.

Kerosine oil =  3 * L /(3 + 4) = 3L/7

Petrol oil = 4L/7

Let say Kerosine oil added  = K

Then Kerosine oil = 3L/7  + K

Petrol  = 4L/7

Total  = L + K

Ratio  = 4 : 5

Kerosine  = 4(L  + K)/9

Petrol =  5( L  + K)/9

5( L  + K)/9   = 4L/7

=> 35(L + K) = 36L

=> 35L  + 35K  = 36L

=> 35K = L

=> K = L/35

L / 35 kerosene oil should be added to this mixture such that the ratio of

kerosene oil and petrol becomes 4 : 5
