In leaves, the cell organelle chloroplast and the pigment chlorophyll is responsible for the green color.

Chlorophyll is a green pigment that is present in the leaves of plants that trap the sun's rays in the form of energy and utilizes it for the process of photosynthesis.

The "chlorophyll is located" in the thylakoid membrane of the chloroplast giving it a green color.

Along with chlorophyll numerous "other pigments" such as xanthophyll, carotenoids etc. are present in the chloroplast
