In line 4 the poet says 'she floats like a laugh from the lips of a dream' and in line 10 she writes, 'she falls like a tear from the eyes of a bride. ' Do you think that the poet has deliberately used the device of contrast? Why has she done so?

In this poem, the poet uses the tool of contrast to get the point across effectively.
She laughs as she is going to embark on a new life filled with a new love, but also cries as she is leaving her old home behind and has to leave her family behind.
The dream has been personified and is laughing. The contrast gets the point across well.
