second làw of motion:-- The force applied on a body is equal to the product of mass of the body and the acceleration produced in it e.g., F= ma. The second làw of motion gives the definition of force. A force is any influence that causes an object to undergo a certain change, either concerning it's movement, direction and geometrical structure. SI unit of force is Newton (N). According to this law, the rate of change of linear momentum of a body is directly proportional to the external force applied on the body. Explanation :- Let P vector be the linear momentum and F vector be the external force applied on the body. According to Newton's 2nd law.

Explanation:

F vector is inversely proportional to dP vector/dt F vector = k .dP vector/ dt ( where k is constant of proportional) (But P vector = mV vector)

F vector = k. d/St( mV vector ) F vector = k.m d/dt (V vector ) But d/ft(V vector) = a vector F vector = k.m.a vector In SI units, k= 1. F vector= ma vector 1 N= 1kg m/s^2

Answer:

Newton's second law of motion can be formally stated as:-

  1. The acceleration of an object as produced by a net force is directly proportional to the magnitude of the net force , in the same direction as the net force , and inversely proportional to the mass of the object
