In MS Office what's the importance of section break in document?

Section break is used in MS word and very useful in dividing the whole  document in to sections. Not only this it also allow the user to formatting  changes in every section it made. For example if i want to one of my pages as landscape i can use the section break  by adding at before  and after the page to be landscape. In this way the changes i made will only effect the page i want.
