in the answer instead of iron(iii) they have written iron(ii iii)(which is ferric ferrous oxide)

so is the answer in the book wrong?

when I searched online.....in the answer some used iron(iii)oxide(fe2O3)
some used iron(ii)oxide(feO)
and some iron (ii iii) oxide(fe3O4)

Answer:

It is given correct in book.

Explanation:

you should use the oxidation state mentioned in your book.

The ones you found online are correct tooo.

The thing you need to understand is variable valency which iron have.

So if condition like temperature and catalyst are not specified you can use any one of all.
