Dear Student,

◆ Answer - (A)

In normal expiration the diaphragm is arched.

● Explanation -

  • Normally, inspiration is active process while expiration is a passive process.
  • During inspiration, diaphragm is contracted to expand thoracic cavity.
  • Enlarged diaphragm appears flattened during inspiration.
  • During expiration previously contracted diaphragm gets relaxed to reduce volume of thoracic cavity.
  • Relaxed diaphragm appears arched up during inspiration.

Thanks dear. Hope this helps you ..
