Answer:
I dived deep under the blankets hoping that the mere sheets of cotton would protect me from the bullets or the knives or whatever weapon the assaulters carried. Scared and terrified I started offering all that was dearest to me to God in exchange of his protection. I was just halfway under promising to stay in my best behaviour for eternity when I heard my mom scream. While I was still comprehending the graveness of the situation I was in and hopelessly failing in trying to avoid imagining the worst possible scenario in tha master bedroom downstairs, I heard my dog, Taiko bark and then let out a low and agonizing whelp which was followed by another round of screams and shouts. I stuck my hand out of the blanket and started searching for my phone. When I couldn't locate it by trying to touch and feel it, I peeped out of the blanket. Just when I spotted it lying under the novel I was currently reading, I heard footsteps on the stairs adjoining my room. Paralysed with shock I felt my whole body shiver and turn cold while I helplessly watched the knob of my door turn. In that numbing moment of blood curling fright I planned to get up and call for help after locking myself in the adjoining washroom. Just when I grabbed my phone and reached for the bathroom door I felt myself being pulled away by the elbow. I yanked my arm and screamed out loud but neither did I free my myself nor did I make it to the washroom. The person holding my elbow yanked me harder. I couldn't see his face clearly due to the tears in my eyes. When I wiped them I saw my parents bending over me. I looked around and found myself lying on my bed with Taiko sitting by my side. I let out a sigh of relief when I realised none of what I dreamt was true. Though the crime novel I was reading was snatched away from me without finishing it, I still felt delighted to know that it was all a fantasy.
