In november 2009, the number of visitors to a zoo increased daily by 20. If a total of 12300 people visited the zoo in that month, find the number of visitors on 1st nov. 2009.

let the no. of people on 1st november be x

days in November = 30

so the visitors will increase by 20 each day

so new visitors = 60

=> x+60=12300

=> x = 12240

so there were 12240 people on 1st November 2009
