In ohm's law experiment it is advised to take out the key from the plug when the observations are not being taken.why it is essential?

it is usually advised to switch of the circuit while not taking the reading during the verification of ohm's law because when the current is passed through the resistor , then due to the heating effect , the temprature of the setup rises and hence , ohm's law cannot be verified properly as ohm's law states a condition of constant temprature.

If the key is not removed from the plug when experiment is not performed as becoz if the current passes continuously then the movement of electron is continuously and offers more collision and hence due to more collision the key r wire gets up heated and may cause the damage ....
