Numbering Pages. Word lets you easily enter page numbers in your document by using the Insert command tab.Page numbers become part of the header or footer. For information on modifying headers and footers, or removing first page formatting, refer to Creating Headers and Footers.

Change the document layout or formatting. Click where you want to make a formattingchange. You might want to select a portion of the document around which to insert a pair of section breaks. On the Page Layout tab, in thePage Setup group, click Breaks.
