In olden days, people simply draped fibres to their bodies because they didn't know stitching.

They simply draped these fabric around their body because they didn't know stitching. Later, when needle was invented, people started stitching these fabric into different shapes to suit their body and thus clothes evolved.people drape fibres around that their body to protect themselves from harsh climatic conditions ... like rain,heat etc. people also wear clothes to look attractive.
