Answer:

YES

A Ball thrown Vertically upward

Explanation:

Yes its possible that an object has zero velocity and non zero acceleartion .

Example : A Ball thrown Vertically upward

Ball will have Zero Velocity at Max height  but acceleration will be equal to acceleartion  due to gravity (g)

acceleartion will be non zero and at max height Velocity will be zero

Explanation:

Yes, its possible In  one dimensional motion, that an object has zero velocity and non-zero acceleration at any instant.

We define acceleration as rate at which objects speed and direction are changing with time .

Example :

A ball projected vertically upwards.

As it is projected, the ball reaches the maximum height and then begins to descend.

At maximum height , the velocity of all will be zero but in that state the acceleration of ball will be equal to acceleration due to gravity[g] which is in zero.
