In one electric circuit 'x' 1 ohm and 2 ohm resistors are connected in series with 6v battery. In another circuit 'y' 1 ohm and 2 ohm resistors are connected in parallel with 4v battery. What is the ratio of electric current in x and y circuit?

resistance of x:1+2=3ohm. (series connection)

current in x :I=V/R. (ohms law)

=6/3=2amp

resistance of y:2×1/(2+1) =2/3. ( parallel connection)

current in y:l=V/R

=4÷(2/3)

=6amp

ratio x/y=2/6=1/3
