Downstream distance = 11 km
Downstream time = 1 hour
Downstream speed = 11/1 = 11 km/hr

Upstream distance = 5 km
Upstream time = 1 hour
Upstream speed = 5/1 = 5 km/hr
Let speed of boat in still water be 'x' and speed of stream be 'y'

x + y = 11
x - y = 5
Adding both: 2x = 16
x=8
Hence speed of boat in still water = 8 km/hr
Hope it helps
